For chief technology and chief information officers, the AI landscape is rife with caution. According to Inside Higher Ed’s 2023 Survey of Campus Chief Technology/Information Officers, most respondents reported embryonic use of the technology, if they used it at all. Inside Higher Ed’s 2023 Survey of Campus Chief Technology/Information Officers was conducted in conjunction with Hanover Research. The survey included 140 respondents from public, private nonprofit and for-profit institutions, for a margin of error of 8 percent.
