One of the main D-ChallengHE intellectual outputs or project results will be an online platform development, which will serve as a go-to training destination for Higher Education professors, lecturers and other academic staff for online teaching skills development.
In the era of digital transition, one has to adapt and higher education institutions are no exception. However, it has been shown that adaptation to online teaching has not been the easiest job for every educator. There is a gap to fill when it comes to digital skills, approaches and delivery of many.
Therefore, the D-ChallangHE project will work towards introducing an online platform, designed to provide educators with the tools, knowledge and resources necessary to create effective and engaging online learning experiences for their students.
The platform will be user-friendly and easily accessible, allowing educators to access it from anywhere, at any time. It will be comprised of:
– Homepage or presentation page with available courses and learning outcomes explained;
– Courses page, where educators will be able to enroll online and learn;
– Forum page for open discussions;
– Contact page for support;
– D-ChallangHE presentation page, where more links to project outputs will be linked.
The courses will cover a wide range of topics related to online teaching. They will be created by experts with extensive experience in teaching online, ensuring that educators receive the most up-to-date and relevant information.
In addition to the course content, each course will also include a final quiz. These assessments will be designed to help educators measure their understanding of the topics covered in the course modules. With a visual progress bar, educators will be able to track their progress and identify areas where they may need additional support.
One of the key features of this platform will be its interactive nature – the interactive forum part. Educators will be able to engage in discussions with other educators visiting or using the platform, allowing for the sharing of ideas and best practices.
The platform will also include a variety of resources that educators will be able to use to enhance their online teaching skills. They will most probably include:
-
Case Study Description;
-
Sample Lesson Plans;
-
Library of External Resources (links to articles, studies and other channels related to online teaching allowing visitors to stay up-to-date with the latest trends).
