2nd Workshop: “Reinventing University. The Digital Challenge in Higher Education”

We invite researchers to submit a proposal for our workshop, “Reinventing University. The Digital Challenge in Higher Education,” to be held as part of the 20th Annual International Scientific Conference on Social Innovations for Sustainable Regional Development, in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
Workshop Overview
The digital revolution has presented both challenges and opportunities for higher education institutions (HEIs) worldwide. This workshop aims to explore the transformative potential of digital technologies in higher education and address the challenges associated with their integration.
Workshop Themes:
- Critical theoretical reflection and empirical research on digital transformation in HEIs.
- Evolution of digital technologies in higher education.
- Organizational changes in universities driven by digital transformation.
- Strategies employed by universities to promote innovation and tackle digital challenges.
- New training models to meet knowledge and skills demands.
- Promotion of quality online relationships and e-learning standards.
- Rethinking professional development in universities.
- Best practices in training and skills development for online learning in higher education.
Tracks
- Governance and Digital Innovation in HEs. Focus on alignment between digital strategies and educational practices, reorganization of HEIs for digital transitions, and addressing digital transformation.
- Overcoming Digital Transformation Challenges in Higher Education. Explore obstacles faced by institutions during digital changes, innovative strategies for managing digital transformation, and the impact of the digital revolution on teaching, learning, and student participation.

Submission Guidelines
Workshop proposals must follow the provided template and adhere to the following guidelines.
- Abstract (not exceeding 500 words) describing the workshop’s purpose.
- A brief biographical sketch of the workshop organizer(s).
- Description of the anticipated audience and expected number of participants.
- Rough agenda outlining the workshop structure and tentative speakers.
- Plans for dissemination of workshop outcomes.

For dissemination purposes, the two convenors commit to utilizing the following channels:
- All academic channels affiliated with both universities, namely Link Campus University and Klaipeda University.
- The research networks with which they collaborate, including the academic Journal “Quaderni di Comunità,” “Persone, Educazione e Welfare nella società 5.0” and “Regional Formation and Development Studies.”
- The scientific societies they are affiliated with and networks of collaborating researchers.
